What are the advantages of choosing a diode vs an Alexandrite?
Dr. Reyna Vargas: The diode laser is currently one of the most used technologies in the aesthetic medical sector. One of the main differences or benefits of the diode is that it is safer for dark phototypes (IV and V) since the diode allows working with wavelengths that go deeper into the tissue without heating the superficial layers of the skin.
This also makes the treatment much more comfortable for the patient and allows to eliminate residual hair that is usually the most complicated in the last treatment sessions.
The durability of diodes is much higher than an Alexandrite. For example, with Primelase® Excellence you can make more than 20 million shots without any maintenance of the equipment for several years, while with an Alexandrite you have to replace the lamps with less than one million shots, and this usually happens after a few months of use.

How does Primelase® differentiate from other diodes?
Dr. Reyna Vargas: Primelase® is one of the most powerful diode laser equipment on the market has 4,800W of power thanks to the fact that it uses an ultra-high power laser diode technology, which allows working with very short pulse durations (from 3 ms) this is a very important parameter for good permanent hair removal results.
The only way to heat the residual and poorly pigmented hair that remains after several sessions is by using very short laser pulses. Other diodes do not have this advantage of Primelase® Excellence and are not able to remove residual hair, and therefore cannot offer good permanent hair removal results.

What are the advantages in terms of effectiveness?
Dr. Reyna Vargas: For maximum efficacy during treatment, the pulse duration should be as short as possible, less than the thermal hair relaxation time (TRT) which is the time it takes for the hair to cool and which for residual hair is less than 10 ms. Primelase has pulses from 3 ms that will allow you to heat the hair with high efficiency and thus obtain excellent hair removal results.

Dr. Reyna Vargas: Primelase® is a very profitable team for different reasons. First, it has large spots that allow you to treat large areas with great speed.
