In this opinion piece, Abigail Prushansky FNP-BC, CNM, founder of Full Circle Premium Health, recounts her professional experience with InMode’s EmpowerRF and the handpiece Morpheus 8V. This morning, InMode is holding a conference call regarding the financial results of the first quarter of this year. The expected revenue for Q1 runs between $77.2M-$77.5M.

As a Women’s Health Practitioner, one of the most common complaints I hear from patients is the frustration of dealing with stress incontinence or urge incontinence, or even a combination of both. While many people may assume that these conditions primarily affect women who have given birth, this is simply not the case. The reality is far broader.

According to National Health Surveys conducted by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC), approximately 45% of women self-report experiencing stress incontinence, and up to 30% report urge incontinence — with symptoms appearing as early as forty years old. The truth is, even women under forty are walking into my office with complaints of urinary incontinence, something that often surprises them as they assume it’s a condition that affects only older women or those who have had children.

The Struggle and the Search for Solutions

The first question I always get from patients is: “What can I do about this? It’s disrupting my life.”

It’s an understandable concern. Incontinence can affect many aspects of daily life, from simple activities like laughing or sneezing to the anxiety of not being able to control the urge to go. In many cases, the go-to recommendation is pelvic floor therapy. Pelvic floor physical therapy (PT) can be incredibly beneficial, especially for women who are dealing with pelvic floor weakness. This approach can help tone the muscles, improve bladder control, and restore normal function. However, there is one big caveat: pelvic floor therapy is a commitment. It requires time, dedication, and consistency — something not all women are able to commit to, especially when daily life is already busy and stressful.

When Traditional Therapy Isn’t Enough

Unfortunately, pelvic floor therapy is not always the best option for every patient. Some women walk into my practice struggling with incontinence but are unable to commit to a long-term PT program or find that it doesn’t yield the results they were hoping for. This is where technology comes into play.

In my practice, the answer to these challenges has come in the form of InMode’s EmpowerRF machine, specifically the Morpheus 8V. First introduced in 2020, the EmpowerRF system was designed to address a range of vaginal and urinary issues, including incontinence (both urge and stress), pelvic floor weakness, and even vaginal laxity or atrophy caused by perimenopause and menopause. This is a treatment that doesn’t require the same commitment or time as pelvic floor therapy, making it an attractive option for those looking for a non-invasive, efficient solution.

A Revolutionary Approach to Pelvic Health

What makes EmpowerRF stand out is its use of microneedling and radiofrequency (RF) energy. The system uses microneedling and RF to stimulate collagen production and tighten the tissues, improving the tone of the pelvic floor and enhancing urinary control. It’s a non-surgical approach that delivers noticeable improvements in a relatively short period of time.

For women struggling with incontinence, EmpowerRF provides a much-needed alternative to traditional treatments. The microneedling and RF energy used in the Morpheus 8V handpiece targets specific areas of the pelvic region, tightening the tissues and strengthening the muscles. As a result, patients experience a reduction in urinary leakage and better bladder control without the need for invasive procedures or lengthy recovery times.

What’s more, the EmpowerRF system can treat a variety of issues beyond incontinence, including vaginal laxity and atrophy, which are common concerns for women as they transition through perimenopause and menopause. These issues can often be a source of embarrassment or discomfort, but EmpowerRF offers a non-invasive solution that can rejuvenate the pelvic region and restore confidence.

The Future of Women’s Health

While treatments like pelvic floor therapy certainly have their place, EmpowerRF offers women a viable alternative for addressing pelvic health concerns, especially for those who need quicker results or are not able to commit to extensive physical therapy programs. The technology offers a less invasive, highly effective option for women dealing with urinary incontinence, pelvic floor dysfunction, and vaginal atrophy.

As women’s health continues to be an area of innovation, treatments like EmpowerRF are proving to be a game-changer. With a growing number of women seeking solutions for these issues — many of whom are younger than we might expect — the ability to offer non-invasive, efficient, and effective treatments is a step forward in giving women the pelvic health care they deserve.

The women are leaving raving reviews praising the treatment’s remarkable effectiveness. Read some of them for yourself!

“I have to give you some feedback!!! I used to always have a urine smell from the incontinence, I do not have that smell now. No leaking, instead of getting up five times during the night to pee I’m only getting up once.”

“OMG first ballet class since I’ve had kids that I could jump without peeing!!!!!! Granted I made sure I didn’t have liquids 3 hours before and went to the bathroom right before class, but still even WITH those precautions I’ve never been able to do that!!!”

“Still not having any urine leakage. I now noticed that I ‘m able to sleep through the night without waking to pee. Sex is not painful.”

“Especially for women my age who are always rushing to a bathroom before we “leak” because of a weak bladder. I immediately felt welcome and comfortable when I walked into your office.”

“Insane how I can jump normally now without a second thought about accidentally wetting myself! Thank you so much! I can’t believe how long I convinced myself that something that was not normal was because I have birth naturally 2x.”

For those affected by incontinence or pelvic health issues, the path forward no longer must involve invasive surgery or long-term therapy. The EmpowerRF system represents a new era in women’s health, where technology meets compassion and convenience, empowering women to reclaim control over their bodies without the burden of invasive treatments.
