Knowing when osseointegration has reached the point that implant stability can be guaranteed is a tricky task for dentists. Osstell’s IDx is a non-invasive tool making it possible to assess quickly the healing process.

The device relies on resonance frequency analysis, a technique the Swedish company developed sending magnetic pulses onto the metal peg inserted in the implant. The results are then measured according to the Implant Stability Quotient (ISQ) scale, ranging from 1 to 100, with high stability reached at up to 70 ISQ. Each measurement is then displayed on a touch screen display.

It is also possible to access these information in the IDx portal Osstell Connect, and therefore to share them with colleagues.
