    Soft and Strong Polymer Suturing

Zeus displayed its new Aeos ePTFE suture monofilament at BIOMEDevice. This fiber provides a soft feel and high knot strength. Made from PTFE that’s been extruded and expanded under controlled conditions, it contains microscopic pores, resulting in a flexible and strong product while being chemically inert. The Aeos ePTFE suture monofilament also benefits from a low surface friction, allowing surgeons to position knots accurately.

Among the medical applications for the product, Zeus mentions mitral valve repair, wound closure and hernia repair. There are six standard sizes, and custom sizes are also available.
