Reality-like viewing: Sony’s new medical video recorder captures images in 3D

Sony’s HVO-3000MT Medical Grade 3D Video Recorder is one of the first medically compliant all-in-one 2D/3D recorders. It is able to capture video images from surgical microscopes and endoscopes in full HD quality.

The 3D images improve spatial orientation when viewing the videos during or after surgery. The streaming function and network connectivity enable doctors and students to follow and analyze the operation in real time from outside the operating room.

Up to 31 hours of video can be saved to the internal hard drive. Images also can be saved simultaneously to external media. The recorder is as easy to use as a home-entertainment DVD system.
