A smart bikini that warns bathers about UV exposure

This is not an ordinary bikini. It is a smart and connected bikini able to warn bathers about too much ultraviolet (UV) exposure, which can have harmful effects on skin and health in general.

This very special swimsuit, manufactured by the French company Spinali Design, has a sensor attached to its fabric. The sensor can detect UV exposure and tell users when they are about to burn, depending on their skin type, by sending an alert to their smartphone via an application.

A children’s version is also being developed, complete with GPS to warn parents if kids wander off the beach.
The swimsuits are priced at around 150 to 200 euros.
